SKATEBOARD SAFETY NOTICE & HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FIRST SKATEBOARD?

Time:2025-12-11

Skateboard Safety Notice

Skateboarding is an extreme sport, and safety always comes first.

·Essential protective gear: Regardless of level, helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist pads must be worn correctly during each exercise. Helmets are the key to preventing serious injuries.

·Choose a suitable venue: Be sure to practice on a flat, open, and less crowded dedicated field. Stay away from roads, steps, and slippery surfaces.

·Warm up and check: Warm up thoroughly before exercise and check if the skateboard screws are tightened and if the wheels are rotating properly.

·Special reminder: According to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, children under 5 years old are not suitable for skateboarding; Children aged 6-12 must have an adult supervising them while skateboarding.

I hope this knowledge can help you better understand and choose skateboarding. If you could tell me whether you mainly want to learn skateboarding skills or use them for daily commuting, I can give you more specific advice.

How to choose your first skateboard

·Clear purpose: Based on the characteristics of the types introduced earlier, clarify whether your main purpose is to travel and brush the streets, or to practice skills.

·Pay attention to "weight-bearing" and "compliance": According to national standards, skateboards have clear weight-bearing classifications. When purchasing, it is necessary to check whether the product indicates the maximum load-bearing capacity and choose a product that meets safety standards (such as China's TY/T 3801.1-2024 or Europe's EN13613) to avoid "toy boards".

·Size suggestion for new players: Double-kick boards with a board width between 7.5-8.0 inches are more beginner friendly, easy to control balance and make basic movements.
